Broadsheet Editorial —
Brief to design a broadsheet editorial informed by articles and research from the life and times of visionary author H. G Wells to celebrate 150 years since his birth.
To start the project I was given a specific year from within Wells’ lifetime, I was given 1916. The name ‘d730’ relates to this year it was 730 days (two years) since the outbreak of WW1. d730 = Day 730.
As Wells was a forward thinker I decided to give d730 a contemporary feel. Using the technical DIN Pro typeface throughout, complimented by a bold colour palette. The publication is populated with news stories, interviews, gadgets and innovations from the 1910s era.
